Foster/White Gallery is delighted to present new work by local master stone carver Will Robinson. Raised in the rural Olympic peninsula, Will was influenced throughout his youth collecting trees, wood, and rock on remote nature hikes surrounding his family property. His work showcases his innate relationship with nature and the special bond he has with his father, Dan Robinson, a master of bonsai.

In Resonance, Will reveals a unique pairing of hard objects transformed by soft lines, shapes, and leather-like textures. The work speaks of adventure and discovery while holding the warmth of home. Will encourages us to interact and engage with the stone to fully appreciate our relationship with simple, natural things and find our own inspiration daily.

Will Robinson was born in Bremerton, Washington and studied History at the University of Washington. His stone sculptures are in private and public collections worldwide. Will's work can also be seen in public settings including: the Swedish Medical Center; Puget Sound Naval Shipyard; Harborside and Lions Field Park in Bremerton, WA; and the Bellevue Botanical Garden as a part of the City of Bellevue's public art collection.

Please join us Saturday, August 9, 2-4pm at Foster/White Gallery for a special engagement Artist Talk. Will and his father, Dan Robinson, will speak on Incorporating Sculptural Elements in the Garden.
