George Rodriguez is a West Seattle based artist with roots in Texas. George is one of America’s most innovative ceramic artists producing artwork today. His characteristic style is a fusion of Latin American culture twisted with his own modern wit and soul.

His upcoming show, Here After, will be opening at the Foster/White Gallery October 2nd from 6 - 8 pm during the Pioneer Square Art Walk. George will be in attendance to meet and greet fans and art lovers. Viewers will encounter an visual feast of Day of the Dead statuary, roadside memorials, and temple relics. Rodriguez’s work is a personal reflection on familial reverence of loved ones passed. Flowers adorn the work as a decorative symbol of offering and care. The large scale of his work and the dramatic surface embellishment draw people into his stories with awe and excitement. His characters make people smile and enter into the story. In this way, questions are asked about who we are and how we relate. Rodriguez states, “I want my work to be approachable and joyful. If the viewer chooses to explore with a little more intent, the sculpture will start to reveal a deeper story.”

Come meet George November 1, 2 - 4 pm and celebrate Dia de los Muertos with us!
