For the first two weeks of her first solo exhibition in Portland since moving to New York, media artist Brenna Murphy will nightly reconfigure an elaborate floor installation, presenting an evolving and complex exhibition of digitally-fabricated sculptures, textiles and found objects. Murphy embraces modularity as a means of building complex worlds in real and virtual spaces, from physical installations to navigable and immersive digital landscapes. The artist will be in attendance for an opening reception on Wednesday, July 5 from 5:00 to 7:00 pm, as well as the First Thursday art walk on July 6 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm.

Axis Spread is the second in a series of three solo exhibitions by gallery artists working primarily in media art, which culminates in a collaborative presentation of work by all three artists (Morehshin Allahyari, Brenna Murphy and Katie Torn), on view August 23 through September 2, 2017. This exhibition series began with Morehshin Allahyari’s She Who Sees the Unknown: Huma, which exhibits June 1 through 24, 2017.
