JACOB HASHIMOTO: The Dark Isn't The Thing to Worry About
Hashimoto uses traditional kite-making techniques to create distinctive works comprised of hundreds of bamboo and paper elements strung together and suspended between parallel dowels to form fragmented and layered elds.

SITE Santa Fe is a private not-for-profit, non-collecting contemporary arts organization committed to enriching the cultural life of Santa Fe and beyond. It meets this commitment by providing an ongoing venue for exhibitions of artists who merit international recognition, as well as offering education and multidisciplinary public programs. Its International Biennial is a crucial part of this mission.

SITE Santa Fe belongs at the forefront of contemporary art presentation. It must be flexible, foresighted, and risk-taking in its exhibitions and programs. Since the first Biennial in 1995, it has earned a stellar reputation among an international group of non-collecting exhibition spaces (Kunsthallen) around the globe. SITE must strive to further that reputation while offering a welcoming experience for all who come here.

Biennial Artists: Robert Breer, Paul Chan, Martha Colburn, Thomas Demand, Brent Green, George Griffin, Ezra Johnson, Bill T. Jones & OpenEnded Group, Mary Reid Kelley, William Kentridge, Avish Khebrehzadeh, Laleh Khorramian, Maria Lassnig, Jennifer & Kevin McCoy, Joshua Mosley, Oscar Muñoz, Jacco Olivier, Raymond Pettibon, Robert Pruitt, Christine Rebet, Robin Rhode, Hiraki Sawa, Berni Searle, Cindy Sherman, Federico Solmi, Kara Walker, with historical works by Edison Manufacturing Company, Fleischer Studios, Lotte Reiniger, and Dziga Vertov
