The inaugural exhibition in Art + Practice's new space (just a block removed from the original space) is devoted to the work of Frederick Eversley. "Black, White, Gray” is comprised of a series of sculptural works that celebrate myriad circular forms through a choice of material that exhibits nuanced fluctuations in tonal range, textures and surfaces through a limited palette of the neutrals of the title, black white and gray. Eversley worked in the aerospace industry before becoming and artist, and has always infused his sculptures with a scientist's sense of experimentation. He began to explore the possibilities of tinted plastics decades ago, creating evocative and complex forms that quickly brought him to public attention. This small exhibition presents choice early works that clearly demonstrate Eversley's importance in the trajectory of 1970s sculpture.
