“Another Promised Land” offers a fascinating and moving look at the life and work of Mexican-born, American-Jewish journalist Anita Brenner. Brenner served as a connection between the U.S. and Mexican modern art, introducing Americans to the works of Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, and Tina Modotti among others. The exhibition includes 150 works of art, including 90 on loan from Ricardo B. Salinas through Arte y Cultura Grupo Salinas. Brenner vibrantly chronicled the Mexican art renaissance of the 1920s, and this well-curated exhibition illuminates her role as a cultural trailblazer. The show offers a unique historical perspective on Brenner’s articles and books, along with the artworks on display. The combination provides fresh insight into the lives of post-revolutionary artists in Mexico.
