"Working with clay, for me, is a blend of physical energy and meditation. I enjoy the hard, physical work, as well as the quiet and stillness it brings to me. I draw inspiration from the simplified figurative forms of African tribal art and early Mediterranean culture. I began as a photographer, studying and creating still images. I think in some ways the two disciplines are similar for me...I am still searching to freeze a moment in time, an emotion if you will, captured for all to experience.
