Susan York - Daily Practice: Day 26, Drawing & Sphere
The artist received a residency grant lasting 26 days, and on each day she made a circular drawing. The circles were allowed to be imperfect, reflecting the individuality of each day's exercise. She then took one drawing, the final one, and used it as a template from which to sculpt an orb of solid graphite.
