JULIAN FAULKNER - "STEVE WANDERS AWAY AND SPOTS A BEAR"
The rich narrative that defines Faulkner’s work is conveyed through complex compositional elements and archetypal imagery. The paintings have continuity that is comforting, but at the same time reveal an irreverent edge that challenges the viewer to look closer. Through visual story telling Faulkner examines consumption, pollution, climate change, and migration.
Julian Faulkner received his degree from the San Francisco Art Institute in 1985. His work has been shown internationally and locally by galleries such as Michael Himowitz, Solomon Dubnick, and the Candy Store Gallery. Faulkner is the recipient of several prestigious scholarships including the San Francisco Art Institute merit scholarship.
